1. You can have your ceremony written especially for you both.

Your celebrant will spend time with you getting to know you as a couple, and will ask you lots of questions in order to create your personal ceremony that has special meaning for both of you.

  1. Relationship with your celebrant.

Your celebrant will meet up by ‘phone/Zoom or face to face (when allowed) with you or discuss with you a number of times before your special day so that you can get to know one another.  By the time your special day arrives, you will know each other well.

  1. You can have the ceremony at a time of your choice.

Celebrants are not constrained to the 9-5 and are available as and when you need them.

  1. You can choose to have your ceremony in a venue of your choice.

A registrar can only marry you in an approved premises in a specific room or structure licenced for marriage.  By using a celebrant you can use a room of your choice, in your garden, have your wedding ceremony outdoors, on a beach or almost anywhere you like.  The possibilities are only limited by your imagination.

  1. Celebrant time on the day.

Your celebrant is committed to you on your special day and is available to you as long as is needed.  They will arrive early to check that the preparations are done and will not leave until the celebrations begin.

  1. You can write your own vows.

If you want to write your own vows, your celebrant will help you to do this.  They can show you examples to start you off so your vows will come from your heart to your partner.

  1. You can include the elements you want such as some religious content and some personalised readings.

Especially for mixed heritage couples, it has become increasingly popular to have a short religious reading to recognise a persons heritage or if a family member wants it.  You may have a poem or particular reading that has a significant meaning to you.  By using a celebrant, you are able to use elements  that are important to you as a couple and your family.

  1. You can enjoy your ceremony stress-free

Most couples who use a celebrant visit the register office either on the morning of their ceremony or the day before to complete the legal process – which is very short – in order to be legally married. Or indeed, any time before of after your ceremony at a time convenient to you. When that is competed, a lot of couples feel that they can  relax and enjoy their special day more.

  1. You can add in symbolic elements.

There are many elements to choose from which can be a very beautiful addition to the ceremony such as a unity candle, hand-fasting, a sand ceremony or love letters.  Celebrants can use different elements and ways within your celebration ceremony.

  1. Celebrant professionalism.

Celebrants love their role.  They are committed to providing an excellent ceremony and service, giving couples exactly what they want.  Make sure you find one that is a member of a professional body and that they are fully insured so that there is no risk to your special day.
